What we publish

We publish research, comparisons and guides for adults 21 and older. We don’t sell, ship or take orders for any product.

How we source

Product facts come from the manufacturer’s published specifications or from regulators such as the FDA. We label which is which, for example “according to the manufacturer.”
Legal summaries cite the statute or regulation, and a date. They are summaries, not legal advice.
Each page shows when we last reviewed it and lists its sources.

What we will never do

Claim we tested a product we haven’t tested. At this time we have not hands-on tested any product, and our pages say so.
Invent reviews, quotes, testimonials, lab results, prices or discounts.
Make health or quit-smoking claims about any product.
Recommend, or link to buy, any nicotine product that lacks FDA marketing authorization.
Publish content aimed at, or appealing to, anyone under 21.
Let a sponsor or affiliate partner change our conclusions.

Money and independence

If we earn money from a link or a sponsor, we disclose it on the page where it appears. See our affiliate disclosure. Commission rates never decide which products we cover or how we rank them.

Updates and corrections

We re-check regulator lists and legal summaries on a regular schedule. If you spot an error, contact us. We fix confirmed errors and change the page’s “last updated” date.
